Meet Jess Smith. Professional Triathlete
Posted on December 14 2013
By the time you read this, our next pro has probably already put in about 6 hours of training. Blame it on her hardworking, wholesome Midwestern roots. Although she isn’t in Kansas anymore, this gal is one of the nicest, humblest and funniest professionals on the circuit. But don’t let that distract you from her steely drive. This little powerhouse was Overall Amateur 70.3 World Champion in 2011 before turning pro in 2012. Um, that means number one in the whole world, people.
It’s an honor to welcome Jess Smith to our 2014 Team.
Now located at Stanford, where her supportive husband Mark is getting his PhD, Jess somehow manages to hold down a full-time day job at Pottery Barn HQs in addition to her training and being a spin instructor at the highly-regarded VeloSF spin studio in San Francisco. In what little free time she has, she is usually supporting friends and making her own sports nutrition products. Let’s just say she knows about time management.
