COEUR AERO LAB
When every watt and second matter.
Aerodynamics + Comfort = Ultimate Speed
At Coeur, we know absolute speed comes when aerodynamics are paired with total comfort, so you can stay aero indefinitely. So we set out to make the ultimate speedsuit.
Every fabric choice, seam, panel and fit decision has a purpose: reduce drag, maximize aerodynamics and keep you comfortable enough to stay locked into your fastest position.
Being fast in a wind tunnel isn’t enough. A suit can test beautifully, but if it pinches, chafes and forces you out of aero, those gains disappear.
Comfort matters just as much as the coefficient of drag. That’s why we design our aero suits to be both the ultimate in speed and comfort to create true performance technology.
When your kit disappears on your body, you can stay aero longer, move more efficiently and focus on one thing: Going faster.

Inside the Coeur Aero Lab
A closer look at how we develop and evaluate our race apparel.

Our iterative testing process
Our design process puts speed and comfort through repeated rounds of testing and refinement.
We begin by evaluating fabrics with proven aerodynamic advantages, then narrow the selection to those that also deliver exceptional comfort. From there, we build garments that incorporate every speed and comfort feature we know, paying close attention to fit, fabric placement, seams, and construction.
Our testers take those designs onto the road to assess how they feel and perform in real riding conditions. Next, we send the garments to ERO Sports outside Los Angeles for detailed aerodynamic testing, using the results to guide refinements that maximize speed.
Then it is back onto the road for more comfort checks, because an aerodynamic improvement must also work for the athlete wearing it. If a garment falls short on either speed or comfort, we repeat the process.
We move into production only when we are fully confident that our gear is lightning fast and insanely comfortable.

Explore the Science Behind the Gear

Putting our gear to the Aerodynamic Test
We work with the acclaimed testing lab called ERO Sports to measure how our apparel affects aerodynamic drag. The coefficient of drag, or Cd, describes how effectively a shape moves through air; combined with frontal area, it becomes CdA, a key measurement in ERO’s testing.
Lower CdA means less air resistance at the same speed. Drag force increases with the square of air speed: doubling speed produces four times the resistance, assuming other conditions remain constant. That makes careful fabric selection, fit, and construction increasingly valuable as athletes ride faster.

The nitty gritty on stitching
We absolutely obsess over the construction of our gear, right down to the space between stitches. We research stitch techniques and stitching density to understand how each choice affects comfort, durability, and performance.
It's not glamorous but we spend the time to decide where it makes sense to use the more expensive flatlock stitching to create smooth, low-profile seams and where a to place overlock stitches to meet our performance requirements. Our seam-selection and construction process is complex, but that's part of what it takes to make real world-class garments.

How Coeur selects the most aerodynamic and comfortable fabrics
Selecting exceptional fabrics starts with relationships built over 14 years in business. We work closely with textile mills around the world, meeting annually to explore the latest fabrics and manufacturing techniques. We evaluate promising materials for both aerodynamic performance and comfort, then incorporate them into test garments to see how they perform together. Those that show potential enter our iterative design and testing process, where we refine, measure, and reassess their contribution to speed and comfort. Every fabric must earn its place by helping athletes move efficiently and feel comfortable mile after mile.
